Editorial Policy

What we include

We focus on identifiable art books and character goods. Each product introduction needs a clear item identity, a source we can check, an exact retailer page, and an original explanation of who may find it interesting. A familiar series name alone is not a reason to invent demand or recommend a product.

Facts and editorial judgment

We identify the source of specifications and date our information checks. Our explanation of a product’s appeal is editorial judgment, separate from the retailer’s description. Unless explicitly stated, we have not bought, tested or handled the item. We do not turn a source-based introduction into a fabricated personal review.

We do not invent ratings, sales figures, popularity, scarcity, licensing or Japan-exclusive claims. A source identifying an unofficial fan work is not treated as proof of official merchandise status.

Prices and buying routes

Product prices, stock, editions, bonuses and delivery options can change. Check the current seller listing, destination eligibility, total charges and applicable terms before ordering. If an exact purchase link cannot be verified, we do not substitute another product or a retailer’s homepage for it.

Images and source credits

A source credit identifies where information came from; it is not permission to copy an image or description. We write our own introductions. We use product imagery only when its use is supported by an applicable right or permission for the relevant medium.

A neutral original graphic may stand in for an unavailable product photograph, and is identified as such. It does not depict or authenticate the actual item. We do not use invented covers or generated product pictures as real photographs.

Links and commercial relationships

The links in this version are ordinary retailer and editorial-reference links. JAPALOOT does not earn a commission from them. If we later introduce affiliate links or coverage involving another material benefit, we will identify that relationship with the relevant content and update our disclosure.

JAPALOOT is not the official website of the retailers or brands discussed. Selecting a product does not guarantee its quality, availability or delivery.

Corrections

For a possible factual error or rights concern, contact JAPALOOT using the Contact page and include the relevant page URL and supporting source. We review the evidence and correct material errors. Unverifiable purchase links are removed or disabled during review.
